Is There Still Hope for America?
The words: One Nation under God were more than a slogan in our pledge. America was founded on Judeo-Christian values. Judging by the decisions, our courts are making today; laws our politicians are passing; misguided educators, and the media you’d never know it.
In studying the writings of our Founders, it’s clear they believed America could not stand if Christianity was removed from our government and our lives—it’s obvious God blessed these men with wisdom.
In an address to the military on October 11, 1798, President John Adams stated:
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
John Adams points out that without the Christian religion, our Constitution could not withstand the onslaught of immoral people. Look at our country today, and you can see Adams was right on the mark.
Engraved on the wall of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. is a quote from Thomas Jefferson which states:
“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.”
Looking at early Supreme Court rulings—in a case ruling against polygamy in 1890, the courts stated:
“It is contrary (speaking of polygamy) to the spirit of Christianity and the civilization which Christianity has produced in the Western world.”
There are countless writings and court rulings that prove we were a Christian nation. By rejecting Christ, we’ve elected officials who are not moral and virtuous people.
Consequently, more money is spent on education than in other countries, yet America is not ranked in the top ten. In addition, we have more people in prison than in other nations in the world.
Ironically, God’s not welcomed in schools, but prison wardens are begging people to come and share the Gospel with the inmates. Perhaps—If we reverse this fact, our school system would drastically improve, and fewer people would be in jail.
The Founders believed every classroom should have a Bible and a copy of the Constitution in them. Today you might be lucky to find either. Noah Webster, Founder, and author of Webster’s Dictionary wrote:
“In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed…No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people.”
Where did America go wrong?
Over one hundred and twenty years ago, the progressive movement began with the intention of changing America. These people opposed everything the Founders believed essential to good government. They set out to remove God from the public square, discredit the Founders, and minimize the value of the Constitution of the United States. Unfortunately, they’ve succeeded.
Today, America is in crisis mode and struggling to find its way out. The answer is to return Jesus to His rightful position—King of America. He was there in the beginning and wants His Throne back.
Where, say some, is the king of America? I’ll tell you, friend, He reigns above.—Thomas Paine
It’s up to the American people to decide if America is worth saving. It’s up to us to take back our country from the progressives who want to erase and destroy any resemblance to our history.
Will God heal our land?
America is at its crossroad. Satan and his aggressive-progressive movement are trying to steer America down the path of mediocrity and destruction.
God is patiently gathering his troops, one by one—waiting for enough generals to start speaking up and taking charge of His armies.
When enough of God’s people are ready, his angels will sound the horn. Satan and his progressives won’t stand a chance.
But it all begins with the American people calling out to the Lord…
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land”—2 Chronicles 7:14
